Dometic RM8 Series Fridge Spares & Parts
The Dometic RM8 series is the absorption fridge fitted to a great many UK caravans and motorhomes built from the late 2000s onwards. It runs to several variants - the RM8400, RM8401 and RM8405, the taller RM8500, RM8501 and RM8550, the slimline RMS8400 to RMS8555, the door-hinged RMD8501 and RMD8505, and the larger RML8330 and RML8555 - and most of the wearing parts are shared across the range.
Interior plastics go first: crisper covers and lids, upper door shelves, wire shelves and the bottom freezer compartment. Next comes the door itself, along with the door edge trim and the door lock. Then the controls - the turning-knob selector switch, the operating panel with temperature probe, and the control panel, which is made in left and right door-hang versions and has to match yours. On the gas side, the burner and burner housing are the usual culprits when the fridge will not light or runs poorly on gas.
Finding your model and part number
Your model and part numbers are on the rating plate inside the fridge, normally on the inner left-hand wall or behind the salad crisper. The RM8 range changed in detail over its life, so match the part number rather than the model alone - a control panel for an RM8401 will not suit an RM8550, and the door-hang side matters.
All parts listed here are genuine Dometic. If you are not certain which version you have, get in touch with the numbers from the rating plate and we will check before you order.
