Dometic Seitz S4, S5 & S7 Windows, Blinds & Spares

Seitz is Dometic's caravan and motorhome window range, and the S4 is by far the most common in the UK - a double-glazed acrylic window with an integrated pleated blind and flyscreen, made in top-hung and sliding versions and in dozens of sizes from 350 x 500mm up to 1450 x 600mm. The S5 shares the same hardware, so arms, stays and latches are interchangeable between the two. The S7 and S7P are the aluminium-framed windows used on curved panel-van conversions, and they take their own fixing kits and pleated blinds.

Whole windows craze, crack or go cloudy and are replaced as a complete unit, but most enquiries here are for the moving parts. Click-clack arms and friction stays are what hold the window open, and they are the first thing to give up - they come in 450mm and 600mm lengths and suit both S4 and S5. Lock latches wear until the window rattles on the move; the set contains two right-hand and one left-hand latch. The blind and flyscreen fabric can be renewed on its own from blind material sold as a ready-to-cut piece.

Getting the size right

A Seitz window is described by its cut-out, width first, and that measurement is normally stamped on the inside face of the outer frame at the top. Measure the aperture in the wall rather than the glass, and check your wall thickness as well, because fixing kits are sold by wall-thickness band - 25 to 32mm, 30 to 31mm, 43 to 60mm and so on.
