Hartal Gas Locker & Service Door Locks, Handles & Fixing Kits

The gas locker on a caravan and the service hatches on a motorhome take more abuse than almost any other door on the vehicle: opened with wet hands, loaded against, and left to weather. Hartal supply the locks, handles and frames for a great many of them, and this page collects the parts we stock — three-point lock sets with rods, outer handles and handle fasteners, gas locker door fixing kits, EMKA compression locks, a locker door frame, inner rubber seals and the gas struts that hold the door open.

Three-point sets are the ones to look at first if a locker door no longer pulls up tight. The rods spread the clamping load to the top and bottom of the frame, and a worn central mechanism leaves the door rattling even though the handle still turns. We stock sets to suit the standard pattern, the Swift Basecamp and the T5 Grande, in grey and chrome handle finishes. Gas struts fail gradually rather than suddenly, so if the door drops on your hand it is the strut that wants replacing, not the hinge.

Hartal numbers are printed on the part in a dotted form such as 73.3886.9911, and the last block varies with colour and handedness. Measure before ordering a frame — the one we stock is 550 x 550mm and takes your original side panel as the infill for a flush finish. If you are not sure which set your locker uses, get in touch.
