Sargent Caravan Power Supply Units, Chargers & Control Panels

Sargent build the 12V and 230V power systems fitted to a large share of British-built caravans, motorhomes and van conversions, and their part numbers follow a pattern worth knowing before you order.

The EC prefix is the main leisure-vehicle range. EC160 units are the self-build power supply unit, with RCD protection and a reverse polarity indicator, available in black or silver and in horizontal or vertical mounting — so measure the space you have before choosing. The EC155 is the PSU supplied as part of a complete kit with a control panel: the K155B kit includes the EC51 panel and sensors, the K155A includes the EC50 panel without them.

Control panels are separate parts. The EC10, EC20 and EC30 are battery voltage gauges of increasing capability — the EC10 is a plain digital voltmeter, the EC20 adds a vehicle and leisure battery selector switch, and the EC30 adds three switched 10A 12V outputs. The AC50Z handles light and pump switching with a charge-level indicator.

On the charging side, the PX310 is a multi-stage mains charger with an LCD display that will also run in PSU mode without a battery fitted; the PF200 is a standalone 2-stage charger you add alongside an existing PSU when you need more capacity; and the DX20 and DX320 are DC-DC chargers for vehicles with smart alternators.

Everything here is genuine Sargent. If you are not sure which unit your van has, get in touch with the make, model and year.
