The thermocouple detects whether the grill burner is lit and holds the gas valve open — if the thermocouple fails, the grill will not stay lit or will not light at all. Signs the Thermocouple Has Failed

If the grill lights briefly then goes out when you release the control knob, or will not light at all despite a spark being present, a failed thermocouple is the most common cause. The electrode may also fail if the tip is worn, cracked, or heavily carbonised.

Installation

Gas appliance servicing must be carried out by a Gas Safe registered engineer. Do not attempt to service gas components without the correct qualifications and tools.
